BACKGROUND
CSD Reform is non-governmental organization in Tamale with a vision of “A Ghanaian society where the civic rights and economic wellbeing of the excluded is protected”. CSD Reform seeks to strengthen its administrative team and is therefore soliciting for qualified candidates for the position of Finance and Administrative Officer.
Job Location: Tamale
Reporting to: The Executive Director of CSD Reform.
I. ACCOUNTING DUTIES, ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Record daily financial transactions
2. Ensure that imprests are properly and timely accounted for.
3. Ensure that retirement is done as soon as possible (not later than one week after activity has been completed)
4. Prepare and file monthly Bank reconciliation statement
5. Prepare & pay monthly payroll
6. Prepare and pay GRA, tier 2 Pension & SSNIT returns
7. Document assets of organization
8. Shall be responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the financial and administrative system of CSD Reform including ensuring sound and effective functioning of systems of controls and administrative policies.
9. Assist to develop programme and project budgets and monitor and review adherence to such budgets.
10. Ensure that financial transactions are promptly and accurately documented and recorded in the right class of accounts.
11. Develop source documents and accounting system for handling all financial transactions.
12. Demand annual departmental budgets and prepare the annual budget of CSD Reform including budget revisions.
13. Prepare all financial reports requested by donors and other organizations.
14. Prepare and submit the annual financial statements of CSD Reform to the Executive Director.
15. Assist the external auditor during the annual financial statement audit.
II. ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES, ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Write and document weekly team meeting minutes
2. Receive and make phone calls on behalf of the organization
3. File official documents in their designated files
4. Perform secretarial tasks assigned
5. Provide logistical support for CSD Reform project staff during workshops
6. Maintain staff personal files and contracts
7. Undertake any other assignment given by management
8. Facilitate the filing of annual returns to the Ghana Revenue Authority, Registrar Generals Department and renewal of NPO License.
Qualification:
• The prospective candidate must hold a minimum of a Diploma in Business Studies (D.B.S) in Accounting or a Higher National Diploma (H.N.D) in accounting. NOTE: Candidates with qualifications outside the categories specified will not be shortlisted.
• Knowledge in the use of at least one Accounting Software
• Excellent financial reporting and analytical skills
• Proven integrity and accountability.
• Proficient of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Ability to work in a versatile team.
